Flagship smartphones these days not just have the top-end CPUs and GPUs, they also have high-end connectivity support. Keeping the importance of connectivity in mind, Samsung has beefed up the latest Exynos SoC with a 5G modem featuring sub-6GHz and mmWave capacities. The sub-6GHz capability could handle up to 5.1Gbps of speeds, while mmWave could handle up to 7.35Gbps speeds.

In addition to high-end 5G connectivity, Samsung’s latest Exynos chipset also comes integrated with Machine Learning capabilities. It has a tri-core NPU featuring 26 TOPS of power.

The latest Exynos 2100 SoC is also a powerhouse for supporting the best camera capabilities. The chipset offers support for up to 200MP camera, 8K video recording at up to 30 fps, 8K video recording at up to 60fps playback, and 4K video recording at up to 120fps recording. The chipset can support up to six cameras and process data from four sensors simultaneously. It also has a multi-camera and frame processor (MCFP), which consolidates data from multiple sensors to produce better zoomed and improved wide-angle shots, and more.

As of now, the latest Exynos 2100 SoC is under mass production. The chipset will most likely debut on the Galaxy S21 lineup. It would be interesting to see if the Exynos processor by Samsung effectively rivals the powerhouse Snapdragon 888 SoC. Only time will tell if it can stand as a worthy rival.
