Galaxy Buds Pro True Wireless Earphones With ANC Are Samsung’s Answer To AirPods Pro

At the Unpacked event today, Samsung finally unveiled the Galaxy S21 lineup. Along with the shiny new phones, the company also launched other devices, including the new Galaxy Buds Pro. These are Samsung’s answer to Apple’s AirPods Pro, a worthy alternative for Android users. The premium Galaxy Buds Pro true wireless earphones feature active noise cancellation with a bunch of other functionalities.

The Galaxy Buds Pro True Wireless earphone or earbuds are the successor to the Galaxy Buds Live that debuted last year. The new Galaxy Buds Pro is priced at $200 and will be up for sale in three color options – Violet, Black, and Silver.

The wireless earbuds boast an in-canal fit design that offers enhanced passive noise isolation to support active noise cancellation. The design change is a one-step above the Galaxy Buds Live’s bean-shaped design, which is a welcoming change. Each piece of Buds Pro includes three microphones, wherein two are placed in the outer layer and one in the inner layer.

The Galaxy Buds Pro features a two-way driver system that combines an 11mm woofer with a 6.5mm tweeter. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5 support with SBC and AAC. Samsung also uses its Scalable codec that delivers enhanced sound quality via high-bit audio transfer and upgraded latency levels.

Audio Customization Via Galaxy Wearable App

Each feature on the wireless earbuds can be personalized via the Galaxy Wearable companion app. Users can tweak settings for the equalizer, active noise cancellation settings, and more through the app.

Samsung touts that the intelligent active noise cancellation on the wireless earbuds can seamlessly switch between ANC and Ambient Sound mode. The feature can also adjust the playback sound as per the user’s voice levels.

Concerning battery performance, the Galaxy Buds Pro can last up to 8 hours with the noise cancellation feature disabled and up to 5 hours with the feature enabled. When left in the charging case, the battery life can touch up to 28 hours. The charging case has support for Qi wireless charging, and USB Type-C connectivity backs the device. The earbuds also have an IPX7 rating for water resistance.
