Samsung has launched new phones in the Galaxy A series at its Unpacked event. The latest phones to join Samsung’s thriving mid-range series are the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A52 5G. With these two new launches, the South Korean manufacturer is pushing the envelope for more under budget. The new smartphones pack some solid hardware with seamless software support.

Galaxy A52 With AMOLED Screen Up To 120Hz Refresh Rate

The latest Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A52 5G come with flagship-level borrowed from Samsung’s own high-end S-series phones. With this phone, buyers will enjoy top-of-the-crop features without emptying their pockets.

The 5G variant features a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the standard 4G variant packs the same screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Buyers can expect smooth display performance while watching videos and stellar graphic performance when playing games. Of course, the real-life test of the screens will come after the reviews are out. Until then, we are quite impressed with the on-paper specs.

As of now, Samsung has not revealed which chipsets power both the phones. All we know is octa-core processors clocked at 2.2GHz (for 5G variant) and 2.3GHz (for the standard variant) power both devices.

Coming to the imaging department, both the variants of the Galaxy A52 pack a quad-camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 12MPultra-wide lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture. On the front, we get a 32MP selfie snapper with an f/2.2 aperture.

A 4,500mAh battery backs the 5G variant that needs extra juice for a 120Hz refresh rate. The 4G variant settles for a 4,000mAh battery. Both the smartphones come with IP67 ratings, offering water and dust resistance.

Pricing & Availability

At the time of writing this, Samsung has not revealed the pricing for both variants. Regarding availability, both variants will launch in the US in the coming weeks at expected pricing of around $499 for the 5G variant. In the UK, the Galaxy A52 5G could carry a price tag of £399 (approx. ~$554). They will be available in Awesome Blue, Awesome Black, and Awesome White color options.

These prices are comparatively lower than the Galaxy S20 FE, which was Samsung’s cheapest offering with a 120Hz display.
