Apple is in for big surprises this year. While we all were patiently waiting for iPhone 12, Apple came with a big bang this week.
In the recent Apple event on 15th September, Apple came with a new smartwatch. The new Apple Watches are,
- Apple Watch Series 6
- Apple Watch SE
These watches will be shorty available in the market along with Apple Watch Series 3.
Release Date:
- Pre-order Date: You can pre-order these watches from 15th September onwards.
- Sale Date: These watches will be available for sale from 18th September onwards.
Price:
Both watches have a significant price difference. While one watch is quite expensive, the other one is budget-friendly.
- Watch 6 Series Price: You can get this watch for $399 in the US and £379 in the UK.
- Watch SE Price: You can get this watch for $279 in the US and £269 in the UK.
The previous version of Apple smartwatch, i.e. Apple Watch Series 3 costs $199 in the US and £199 in the UK.
Design & Display:
The design of both these watches will be the same as Watch Series 5. However, you will come to new vibrant colours and straps. You will get a different variety of Apple Watch bands. These watches will be water-resistant and with a sharper display.
Watch Series 6:
- Size: 40mm and 44mm
- Display Type: Always on Display
- Finish: Multiple Finishes
Watch SE:
- Size: 40mm and 44mm
- Display Type: Retina Display
- Finish: Aluminum Finishes
Hardware:
You can use both the watches have heart rate sensors. There is accelerometers, speakers, microphones and altimeters.
Watch Series 6:
It has a dual-core processor. Moreover, it is 20% faster than the previous version. It runs on S6 processor. There is a U1 chip as well. You can enjoy fast charging feature as well. It takes 1.5 hours to charge. It will last for 18 hours.
Watch SE:
It runs on S5 processor. It is twice as fast as Watch Series 3. There is no information on battery performance.
Software:
Both the watches will work on WatchOS7. This is the latest Apple watch software. All Apple watches will use this software. All the models from Watch 3 and higher will use this operating system.
If you already have an Apple watch, you will be able to download the new software from 16th September onwards.
Features:
Watch Series 6:
You will get all the same features as the previous watches. Moreover, you can use it to measure ECG.
You can also make International Emergency Calls. There is a fall detection feature. You can also get notifications for heart rhythm and low heart rate.
You can monitor blood oxygen, as well. The feature is called as monitoring SpO2. You can track time elevation.
Watch SE:
It has all the same features as Watch Series 3. You can also use other features like time elevation tracking and fall detection. You can make emergency calls. There is a Noise App feature as well.
