Over a period of time, Google has killed many products and services. All these things add up into the Google Graveyard or Cemetery.
This year, Google has been on a roll. Along with introducing new products, Google discontinues many others.
Recently, Google has discontinued one of its popular smart home security devices.
Google Nest Secure Alarm System goes into the Graveyard!
You will not find this product in the Next Secure page. It is no longer available on Google Store.
The big red button on top clearly shows that it is not available.
So if you were planning to invest in this home security system, start looking for another.
Google Nest Secure Alarm System:
It is one of the best and customizable security solutions in the market. You can either install it yourself or ask a professional to do it for you. It was introduced in the year 2017.
It is by far one of the best smart home security devices. At the time of the launch, the price was $499 which then dropped to $399 in just a year. There are 3 basic parts of this device. Moreover, there will be a Nest Guard that works as a remote control.
There are amazing lights and controls in it. Then, you will get Nest Detect. These are sensors which you can put on the door. There is an LED light ring at the bottom. Nest Tag is another part of it. You have to wave these tags to disarm the security.
You can also use Nest Cam with it. Moreover, you can operate this system via the Nest App. There is a microphone in the system which enables you to control it via your voice. You can use it with Alexa and Google Assistant. It is perfect for Smart Home integration.
Good News for Existing Users:
Although, you cannot purchase this system, you can continue using it if you already have one. There are no changes of existing users. Google will still support this system.
Google is going to support smart home security devices. This is just one product Google have discontinued. You will find other smart home security devices by Google in the market. You will find video doorbells, smoke alarms, security cameras and other devices.
Recently, Google have shown interest in ADT Company. It is a home security company. Google will invest $450 million in this company. The Nest devices will become a part of this company’s products. Google is going to take over the smart home security market.
