Poco F2 Teased: Are We Finally Getting The ‘True Successor’ To Poco F1?

The Poco F1 came to be one of the most powerful yet affordable smartphones of its time. The device launched with top-of-the-line hardware and software, bringing flagship under a cloud of budget, priced at $300. However, the Poco F2 Pro successors could not live up to the first one’s expectations as they failed to maintain the intended price range and fell out of the budget line of $300.

It looks like Poco is now gearing up to bring out another phone in the series, and we are hoping that it creates a similar impact as the Poco F1. To recall, Poco teased the device in October 2020, and it also hinted that it is planning to bring out a ‘true successor’ to the Poco F1. Presumably so, this upcoming device could very well be the Poco F2. And it is also being teased as Poco F2 on Twitter and forums.

Poco also posted a video on Twitter, which roughly summed up the company’s achievements in 2020. The same video also hides some hints or Easter eggs for the upcoming Poco F2. Please take a look at the screenshot below to gauge what we are referencing:

Other than some hints for the upcoming phone, Poco did not share any further details about the Poco F2. This means that we are still left to our imagination for the specs and features that the upcoming phone could feature. However, in all its entirety, we do expect the Poco F2 to come with some flagship-level specs and features and, of course, a price tag that could impress the budget buyers.

We expect the Poco F2 to have 5G connectivity support, high-end SoC, sleek design and display, and flagship-level camera setup. It would be a challenge for Poco to live up to these expectations while staying strictly under budget. But, isn’t it what the company achieved with the Poco F1? The pricing of the F1 was truly disruptive for the markets at the time of its launch.

A lot remains to be seen this year from the house of Poco. And we are putting our bets on the much-teased ‘true successor’. What are your thoughts on the Poco F2? Do you think Poco will repeat history this time and gift the fans with what they expect? Please share your opinions with us in the comments below.
