Samsung Brings Out SmartTag and SmartTag Plus Tile Trackers To Help Track Your Belongings

At the Unpacked Event 2021, Samsung also launched new products – SmartTag and SmartTag Plus tile trackers. Well, these devices do not take us by surprise because some of the recent leaks had been teasing the trackers for quite some time. Now, we finally have the official launch, and we must say that the tile trackers by Samsung are worth your attention, especially if you are someone who tends to forget belonging like keys or wallet.

Samsung will be releasing the SmartTag and SmartTag Plus on January 29, 2021, alongside the Galaxy S21 lineup. It’s worth noting that Samsung is giving it for free to the Galaxy S21 buyers who pre-order. The Galaxy SmartTag is priced at $29.99, while the SmartTag Plus will cost $39.99.

The Galaxy SmartTag and SmartTag Plus can easily attach to any of your items and track them in real-time so that you never risk losing them. The Bluetooth device can connect to plenty of belongings like a wallet, keychain, or even your pet’s collar to track them. Samsung makes use of SmartThings Find to track items. We think that a tile tracker is a pretty useful device as it safeguards the belongings that we regard important.

SmartTag Plus With Ultra-Wideband Wireless Technology (UWB)

Samsung SmartTag Plus

The Galaxy SmartTag Plus is an enhanced version of the SmartTag. It offers the user better and more accurate location data. It uses ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless technology that allows smartphones to track items precisely. The device can also link to an AR tracker app that enables users to find items in a 3D space instead of just a map.

With the SmartTag, Samsung rivals the existing device from Tile and other brands. And if rumors are anything to go by, Apple is also gearing up to bring out a similar tracker gadget called Apple AirTag.

We will soon get to know more about that, but until then, we are quite impressed by the way Samsung is spreading its product lineup and trying the best to lure more users into its ecosystem.

What’s your take on SmartTags? Would you spend money on buying a tracker device from Samsung or wait for Apple’s alternative? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.
