Both the smartphones are set to hit the sales shelves on April 2, 2021, while the preordering begins on March 26, 2021. The OnePlus 9 Pro will be up for grabs in Black, Green, and Silver color options, while the OnePlus 9 will be up for sale in Black, Blue, and Light Purple color variants.

Specifications & Features

Let’s start with the cameras onboard that OnePlus has developed in collaboration with Hasselblad. The company claims that it has tweaked the colors to get a more natural look, while the ultrawide sensor on both phones is the biggest sensor ever used on a smartphone. The ultrawide lens features a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor that’s with an f/2.2 aperture.

The primary sensor on the OnePlus 9 Pro features a 48MP Sony IMX789 sensor, while the OnePlus 9 settles for a 48MP Sony IMX689 sensor. Both the phones have a 2MP monochrome sensor and a 16MP selfie camera, but the OnePlus 9 Pro also gets an 8MP telephoto lens.

Both the phones can record up to 8K videos at 30fps, and the OnePlus 9 Pro can also record 4K videos at 120fps.

The OnePlus 9 packs a 6.55-inch full-HD+ Fluid AMOLED display, while the OnePlus 9 Pro features a 6.7-inch QHD+ Fluid Display 2.0 AMOLED display. Both the phones boast a 120Hz curved display that tweaks its refresh rate automatically according to the content played on the screen. This functionality brings down the power consumption by up to 50 percent, the company claims. It also boasts Hyper Touch technology that comes in handy with touch responses during intense gaming sessions.

A 4,500mAh battery backs the smartphones with support for Warp Charge 65T that the company touts to charge the battery to 100 percent in up to 30 minutes. The OnePlus 9 Pro can charge wireless at up to 50W, while the OnePlus 9 supports wireless charging at 15W.

OnePlus Watch

The long-rumored OnePlus Watch packs a 1.39-inch HD AMOLED display with a 2.5D curved glass protection on top. The wearable boasts ‘seamless connection’ support enabling users to get voice calls and notifications on their watch screen.

Interestingly, the smartwatch can also be used as a remote control for the OnePlus TV and can automatically power off the TV when it detects the user is asleep. It also intuitively lowers down the TV volume whenever you get a call on your phone.

A 405mAh battery backs the watch with support for Warp Charge fast charging. OnePlus claims up to a week’s battery life on a 20-minute charge and up to 24 hours of backup on just a 5-minute charge.
